You know that feeling you have in the morning where you are really tired and all you want to do is go back to bed. Don't you wish you could bottle that feeling up and use it when it is time to go to sleep at night. Instead I find myself wide awake watching reruns of Storage Wars on A and E.

Reading the actual newspaper is better than reading it off the Internet. Small paperclips do more harm than good when it comes to organization. While I was eating lunch today, I was wondering how much money the guy who invented the spork made. He deserves it. I made a very easy transition from my rotini with meat sauce to my jello mixed fruit cup.

I stopped to get gas the other day. It was $3. 59 or so a gallon which is crazy. I payed at the pump with my check card. Instead of putting my check card in my wallet, I put it in the pouch of my hooded sweatshirt. I don't like the term hoodie. That term seemed to come out of nowhere and really seems to have a lot of staying power. Anyway, I went to baseball practice where I took my sweatshirt off and placed it on a chair, put it back on, went home, took the sweatshirt off, back on, etc. This went on all day. The sweatshirt was acting like a jacket for me. The next day, I went to the supermarket and was going to use my check card to buy a few odds and ends. It was not in my wallet. It was in my laundry basket in the pouch of my hooded sweatshirt. So the next time you hear someone say don't put that in your pouch, you will lose it. Think twice because the pouch can take good care of your materials and it has always done right by me.

When I was in college, I interviewed for some type of job on campus. This is one of the questions they asked me : If you could be any part of a salad, what part would you be. I like salads but I really have to be in the mood for them. However, I don't like the beginning of the salad. It is usually dominated by the lettuce. I enjoy the end of salad when most of lettuce is gone and you're scooping up the extra stuff that found its way to the bottom of the bowl. I think of it as a little treat for putting down all that roughage. My answer was croutons. They asked me why. I still have no idea why I chose croutons but I gave them some ridiculous answer. Anyway, I got a job at Sears Hardware.

One of my students mentioned something in class today that I found very intersting. He said that he had a substitute teacher for his physical education class once and his first name was Jim. Reading - Unit 2 Vocabulary Test on Tuesday

I had a very nice chicken patty sandwich for lunch today. However, I was a little hesitant to make that selection. Since you are probably dying to know why, I will tell you. I recently went to the supermarket and bought a bag of southern style chicken patties. The picture of the patty on the bag looked like it came right from Chick-Fil-A. Boy was I deceived. I opened the bag and they looked like regular old chicken patties. They were'nt even remotely close to Chick-Fil-A. Yes, I still ate them but I wasn't happy about it. Anyway I got over it and enjoyed my lunch today. I just wish the pictures on the bag or box of any type of food looked closer to the product inside. Also, the McDonalds Original Chicken Sandwich is strikingly close to a Chick-Fil-A sandwich if you're interested. I believe it is the #8 value meal.

I cannot believe how hard it is to get a good pair of sneakers these days. They have become way too flashy. When it comes to sneakers, less is more. My advice to you: When you find a pair of sneakers that you really like (if that ever happens) stock up. Buy two or three pair. At the time, you may not feel that is necessary but you'll be glad you did.

Recently, a fellow colleague (Mr. Glessner) brought it to my attention that the cafeteria is no longer serving Spartan Chicken Bowl. I can't really wrap my head around this one. We often have chicken and in many different forms (wrap, patty, sticks, parm, and the classic nugget). Also, we have corn and mashed potatoes on a regular basis. If we put all these ingrediants together and make the chicken popcorn style, we will be back in business. I have to be honest, when I do the lunch count in the morning and I say Spartan Chicken Bowl, the kids' eyes light up. Please bring back the SCB. If not for certain faculty members, do it for the kids.

Rotini with meat sauce, one of my favorites, was today's lunch. This got me thinking of my favorite pasta dish, cheese tortellini. Love that cheese. Anyway, from time to time when I'm out for a nice dinner, I will order the good old tort. However, there is one thing that can ruin the finest of all tortellinis. (Too much sauce) I find it strange that restaurants have the nerve to control my sauce amount. I'm a sauce on the side guy. Some people might find that weird but if I was a chef and an order came back "Cheese Totellini / Sauce on side" I would be relieved. No pressure of how much sauce, it would be strictly about the tort.
